A big girl came to join LL in this week’s photo!
Last Week’s News.
I cannot believe that this little person has been in our lives ten weeks now. I wish the time would slow down, she is growing up far too fast.
Last week she was a little bit unsettled with wind again, for some reason she couldn’t do a number two and so for a few days was really straining and unhappy with wind. I hate seeing her in pain, her tummy goes rock hard and her little body goes all rigid. As such she hasn’t been as settled in the evenings and during the day, but she is still such a chilled out litle baby.
On Thursday we had her 8 week jabs, we are a week behind schedule but have been told that doesn’t really matter. I hate them, I know that they are important but I hate the fact that they have one, calm down, and then get jabbed again. LL let out a little whimper with the first one and then got quite upset by the second. She soon calmed down though and didn’t seem to have any after effects.
I finally got her weighed when we visited the local baby clinic. At nine weeks and four days she weighed 11lb 14oz which actually is almost exactly what Mads weighed at her age. The health visitor was pleased, she is following the line on her growth chart, although she said if she was being really picky then she had dropped centiles ever so slightly. However Mads did exactly the same, I think it is because I grow such big babies that they eventually even themselves out!
She has started really smiling and following you with her eyes now, the thing I love the most is watching her bond develop with her sister, she has started smiling at her and watching her- it is lovely to see.
She has really started chewing on her fists, it is very cute and she makes the cutest little sucking noises. She also dribbles a lot but I am hoping she isn’t teething just yet!
We seem to be in a similar routine to the last couple of weeks. She has been going to bed around 9pm with me as I am still not ready to put her up to bed on her own, I don’t know why but I feel like it is such a big step. She then is sleeping till around 3am, but sometimes even 4am, 5am or even 6am. She then has been coming in our bed still and having snuggles with me until half seven when Mr E gets up for work.
Her sleep in the day is still pretty good, she generally gets up and is awake for a couple of hours before dozing for a while, or if we are out she sleeps for longer in her buggy or car seat. She then has a little awake period around lunch time before settling down and having quite a long nap on the sofa next to me in the afternoon which works perfectly as it coincides with Mads nap too. However the last couple of days it has taken longer to get her to sleep so I am worried she is going to start to not want to nap at the same time as her big sister!
Feeding is still going well and mastitis hasn’t reared it’s ugly head again. LL is a funny old feeder, sometimes she will feed for 10 minutes, sometimes for 20 minutes. In the night time’s she only feeds for a few minutes and as a result by the time we wake for the day I am so full!
I try and leave her every three hours during the day, but to be honest we really just feed on demand or whenever I feel like it! I am being naughty and in the afternoons I often feed her so she sleeps when Mads does! Not good I know.
We don’t seem to have hit any growth spurts or anything yet, while she loves to feed she isn’t a particularly hungry baby. I remember Mads practically chomping at my boobies to get milk but LL isn’t the same at all.
