I genuinely don’t remember the last time we had proper snow. We had a little bit back when I was 35 weeks pregnant with Lottie but I do remember it not being all that heavy. So I am sure like many children up and down the UK on Sunday morning, the girls were incredibly excited to wake up to a good proper covering of snow. We were actually meant to be heading out on a day out a couple of hours drive away, but even my normally very laid back husband said that it would be best to cancel as it looked to be getting worse throughout the day. So armed with a day of absolutely no plans and a load of snow, we spent the morning playing in the snow, having lunch at a local pub, and then the afternoon snuggling under blankets looking at it falling outside through the windows in our new snug.
Sadly Wren was a little under the weather and had a very rare nowadays morning nap, so I didn’t get any photos of him in the snow, but he was very fascinated by it falling through the window and he kept pointing and doing his usual funny little exclamation grunt. But the girls, Jon and I headed just outside our front door and built a snow man. Our neighbours were outside at the same time building one outside the front of their house and we joked that we were having a snow man competition. Afterwards we went inside to warm up and the little boy who lives across the street bought Maddie and Lottie over some snowman pancakes he had made- it feels so lovely to be in our new home and making new fresh memories here, including the first time we ever had snow.
I didn’t take many photos, but here are a few I took and also I am doing vlogmas (daily videos every day until Christmas Eve) so of course I captured our day on there too.
