My Week That Was #12

Another week has passed us by and it is Sunday again.  I hope that everyone has been taking advantage of the sunny weather we have been having this weekend.  I have had a nice relaxing weekend which is just what I needed, I have been a little overtired this week as my freelance work has been getting on top of me a little.

Here is my week that was…

Monday was another work day.  The start of the week is always so boring for me but then it does get better come Wednesday and I finish for the week.  It was my wonderful Dad’s 60th Birthday today and him and his partner came over for dinner which was lovely.  Mr E cooked up one of his famous risotto’s and we had a lovely time.

Tuesday was spent at work, but in the evening we went over to my Mum’s for dinner which was lovely, we had a roast dinner which was a treat midweek.  I love going over to see my Mum, she is my best friend, and my stepsister and sister still live at home so it is nice to visit them.  We are lucky they live as close as they do.

Wednesday I worked in the morning and then in the afternoon myself and my friend and her son went over to my Mum’s beauty salon to pick up Mads as she hangs out there for a few hours on a Wednesday.  It was a beautiful day so we went for a pizza at the local pub and then took the babies to the park.  They had a great time playing on the swings and slides.

Thursday marked the start of my weekend and so Mads and I took full advantage of our day together.  We walked with Daddy into work and then headed off to our baby group and saw some of our friends, we went for a coffee afterwards as well and I had the yummiest vanilla milkshake made with icecream.  We then left our friends and met Daddy for lunch where we fed the ducks and had a sandwich in the park as it was a lovely day.  We then decided to take a walk to our local Tesco as they have a BOGOF offer on Disney DVD’s and I want to buy Mads the whole collection, but we didn’t envisage just how far it was and by the end of it I was so tired.  I think we must have walked about 7 miles.  We had a great day together.

Friday I went to a soft play place with about six of my friends in the morning.  All the babies had a great time and we had a nice catch up as we don’t manage to all get together as often as we used too.  We gave them lunch there and then in the afternoon Mads and I headed off to my Mum’s salon.  I got my nails done which was nice and have gone for glittery pink and silver this week. Mads had her first ice cream of the spring season!  Mr E had been given half the day off as it was one of his colleagues leaving do and so they all stayed out drinking for ages- at 12am he wandered home and was very drunk at this point.  I had a lovely evening in on my own which I enjoyed and he amused me greatly when he returned home.

We had a chilled out day on Saturday.  In the morning the three of us went over to my Mum’s salon again and I had a pedicure and some new Minx nails put on my tootsies ready to get my flip flops out.  I am so lucky that my Mum has her business, I get to get so many nice things done.  We then helped her out by doing some leaflet dropping in a nearby village, and we had a nice long walk and enjoyed the sunshine.
In the evening I went out for dinner with my NCT friends.  We went to a lovely Chinese restaurant near us, and we spent hours laughing and drinking lots of wine.  All in all a very nice evening.

Today was spent relaxing.  I went to Tesco’s with my Mum and Mads in the morning and she very kindly treated Mads to some summer clothes and some more Disney DVD’s.  We happened to bump into my stepsister while we were in there and she also treated Mads to two more as well so she is slowly building up a collection.  We then had a big tidy up and then went out for a nice long walk, a mini picnic and for a play in the park.  All in all a lovely day and a lovely week.
