Me and Mine: A Family Portrait Project- November.

It’s the last day of November which means that my favourite month of the year is just around the corner.  November, like all the other months this year, has passed ridiculously quickly.  Why does time fly when you are having fun?

It’s been a busy one this month.  We started the month with firework night and then our weekends have been taken up with friends coming to stay.  It has been so lovely as a lot of our close friends live far away so we don’t get to see them that often, but we have been treated two weekends of visitors in a row.  It’s surreal to see each others children growing more and more each time we see each other.

Here is our November Me and Mine photo.

I decided that I wanted to be a little festive in this months family portrait, as of course we are on the Christmas countdown in our household. I thought about getting us to all wear Christmas jumpers for the photo so I went to the exclusive boutique that is Primarni to see what I could find.  But I was met with two small problems- firstly I wanted to take the photo outside so I was worried it was going to be a little too cold for the girls, and secondly the jumpers were so hideous that even at Primark prices I couldn’t justify them as we probably wouldn’t ever wear them again.

So I settled on these beauties.  Don’t get me wrong, you probably won’t see myself or Mr E busting out our snowman hats again any time soon, but they were cheaper, and warmer, than the original jumper idea.

The next problem came when Mads decided she didn’t want her hat, which was originally a snowman, but instead wanted to be a penguin.  I don’t blame her, penguins totally rock, but it meant that Mr E had to wear the glittery kids snowman hat.  I couldn’t wear it as I have an incredibly large head. (It’s true, I couldn’t get a hat to fit me when I was in Brownies- I have tried to erase the embarrassment from my mind.)

But anyway, here are two snow people, a penguin and a slightly bemused reindeer.  And just for good measure, here we are again pretending to be Gruffalo’s.

Because that surely makes us look even more normal right?

November was grey and damp, but it was a good one full of memories.

We look forward to welcoming December, with all it’s festivities – a third birthday, a fourth wedding anniversary and of course the big day itself.

P.S  I would like to thank my husband for agreeing to wear the aforementioned kids snowman hat- you are one in a million.  I am so sorry that there were people out walking their dogs that early, I am sure they didn’t think we were strange growling at a camera on a tripod.  No street cred ruined here at all.  Honest.
