Weekends for us are either very busy or very quiet. While we enjoy the busy ones, I relish the quiet ones when it is just the four of us.
This past Saturday we went to Cambridge as we had a bit of shopping to do- I feel very lucky to have lived nearby for most of my life- it is the most beautiful city.
We did our shopping and then went for the biggest slice of cake ever as we promised Mads a cupcake. The sun was shining and it was suprisingly warm so we decided to stay a bit longer and go and get a picnic to eat in the park. LL was snoozing away in her buggy and we snapped this photo of Mads and us. She was in a cheeky mood and telling Mr E ‘Daddy if you are a good boy you can share your drink with me!’ Not quite the way it works but she seemed to think it was.
It was a lovely day out- we didn’t do anything particularly exciting but both girls were so well behaved and we laughed lots as we walked along listening to the funny things that Mads came out with. She is at such a great age.
It was the three of us for two years yet nowadays we rarely take photos of the three of us- it is always the four or us or perhaps two of us in the photos. I therefore love this photo. While it is amazing to be together as a family, it is also lovely to snatch little moments of one on one time with each of our daughters.
These was one of those such moments.
A simple day. A simple moment.
But one I don’t want to forget.
