{The Ordinary Moments 14} #3 – A Week Of Bugs.

LLCOT

Every afternoon after her nap I hear a little whimper coming from her baby monitor, signaling it’s time for me to go upstairs and get her.  In the last few weeks she has started standing in her cot, waiting for me to come in.

I shout her name as I walk up the stairs and the whimper turns into a cry, it’s almost as if gets upset because she can hear my voice and she is desperate to get out.  I push the slightly ajar door wide open and she smiles the biggest smile and visibly jumps up and down in excitement.  I love seeing her little face so happy to see me.

But this past week the smiles haven’t been quite so wide.  LL has been quite under the weather, it started on Monday with her being sick and she has just been on and off all week.  I made her a doctors appointment on Thursday because she was quite lethargic and I was worried she was dehydrated, but she seemed to get a little better.

We thought she seemed to be much better yesterday morning so we decided to go on a family adventure to London, but as soon as we got on the train she seemed to go downhill again.  She was fine at the event, but just really cuddly and sat on either Mr E’s or my lap all day.  She’s definitely not her usual happy self.

But every cloud has a silver lining and we have all been getting the most wonderful cuddles.  We have been spending lots of time cosied up under a blanket and when she nestles her little head into my shoulder there is nowhere else I would rather be.

Her giggles haven’t been quite as often, her smiles haven’t quite as big and there isn’t as much sparkle in her big blue eyes.

But myself and my littlest girl have had a week full of snuggles and love, even through the under the weather times.

And isn’t that what being a parent is all about?
