21 Weeks Pregnant...Bump Diary.

So we have reached the over halfway mark in our second pregnancy. It is a great milestone to reach as the second part is definitely more exciting than the first.
We had our 20 week scan a couple of weeks ago and we found out the fabulous news that Bug is actually a little girl. We annouced it with a little photoshoot of Mads. If I am completely honest I couldn't really imagine myself with a boy, obviously I would have loved one and relished being a parent to a son, but I secretly was hoping we would have a girl for Mads. I think it will be amazing for her to grow up with a sister so close to her in age, and the thought of another little girl who is as beautiful as my daughter brings me close to tears.
Although I am certainly scared of the tantrums it will bring having two little ladies in the house, and don't even get me started on the teenage years. I think Mr E would have liked a boy but he is very excited and thrilled to have two little girls- in fact seeing as he is the best Daddy to our little girl, I know he will be brilliant.
The last week I have started to feel Bug kick. I thought I had felt the odd tap but was getting frustrated about wanting to feel more. However I didn't feel Mads until around this time and my placenta is at the front again. A few days ago I noticed a few taps and if I put my hand on my tummy I could feel it- the last few days she has been really active and I have been feeling her do little kicks a couple of times in the day if I am concentrating and a fair bit at night. She is more active at this stage than Mads was.
It is the best feeling in the world.
We haven't bought a single thing yet, although my Mum bought her a little babygrow from Next the other day. We haven't got a huge amount to buy, although we do obviously want her to have her own things. We are going to get a double buggy, but there is no way I will shell out on a brand new one as I really think we are going to only use it a few months- Mads will be 2 years 2 months when Bug arrives and we don't use our buggy a huge amount now unless we go out for the day. Still I will need a place to keep her when I am feeding Baby No 2 and the thought of a toddler running everywhere scares me!
The shopping stage is exciting so we will look forward to buying the odd bits and pieces over the next few months.

And I didn't buy anything until really late this time around, basically when I realised I hadn't really got prepared. I think it's easy with number two to just think that you've already got everything you need. But I did love going out and buying a few special little new bits for Splodge. X
