A Fashionista in the making!
Mads and I had a lovely day out in Cambridge with my Mum yesterday and indulged in a spot of retail therapy. I have always loved going out for girly days and yesterday was no exception- we went out for lunch at Giraffe where Mads loved having pizza fingers and then we decided to add a few items to our winter wardrobes!
I have always enjoyed buying clothes and while I don't confess to walking straight out of the pages of Vogue, I do like to look nice. I used to spend a fortune on them when I was younger, however since Mads came along, buying clothes that get sicked on or get 'decorated' with low flying bits of cottage pie or pasta don't really have the same appeal. Plus since going part time I don't have the money to treat myself as much as I used too and all the money I do have goes on Mads. I can honestly say she now has a much better wardrobe than me and really is a fashionista in the making!
Yesterday my Mum very kindly treated Mads to a couple of essentials and I also spent a little bit of Christmas money on a couple of things.
First of all Mads got a snuggly winter hoody from Next- its ideal for if we go swimming and also for having days at home in our PJ's which we love doing. (but haven't done for ages) There is nothing better than putting on a comfy hoody when it is chilly outside.

The next item on our shopping list was a coat, also from Next. She didn't really need a coat as she has quite a few but when we saw it we just had to have it as it is practically identical to mine! Even down to the little cord bits on the elbows. It has such a gorgeous little spotty lining! Here she is modelling it- I absolutely love it.

Finally we bought a new cossy- after all a girl has to look her best at all times, even in the pool! We went swimming this morning and she wore it for the first time, it is a little big on the chest area (she is like her Mummy obviously!) but lots of room for her to grow into it.

I treated myself to this rather nice top from Arc which I love as it is not too tight and therefore hides my Mummy tummy- please excuse the photo, we have just been swimming so I have wet hair and no makeup on!

I then also bought this little dress from Ark which I love as well.

We had such a lovely day as I always do when I go out with my Mum, putting the world to rights and have a good old natter. My Mum is very similar to me too and is my best friend, I can only hope that Mads is too- I love to think that in however many years we will be doing the same together. I hope that I have as good a relationship with her as I do with my Mum. And no doubt she will be just as expensive as I am too- even now!
