Hocus Pocus and All That....
I don't really know how I feel about Halloween. I never went Trick or Treating as a child, apart from once when I had a Halloween party, and my Mum went round to all the neighbours on our cul-de-sac and gave them sweets beforehand so they were aware a party of 10 six year olds were coming round!
In recent years Mr E and I have been total Halloween party poopers, and we sit in the dark with the lights off and ignore the door if trick or treaters come round- don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against it, but I just don't feel entirely comfortable with the idea of it. I don't know why. No doubt tonight we will do exactly the same. Although I do feel guilty about all the cute kiddies coming around, so maybe this time we will make more of an effort to at least answer it.
However the one thing I do love about Halloween is the dressing up. After all who doesn't love dressing up, and putting my child in ridiculous outfits was the one thing that I was super excited about when I found out I was pregnant! After all I need some good material for her 18th birthday photo album.
One of our friends had a little Halloween party this morning for the little ones, so Mads and I decided on the theme of witches. Because Mummy was working all week, Grandma very kindly brought her witches outfit and Auntie Paula got her her very own broom. So we were all set.
Before the party we popped to our local children's centre as they had creepy crawlies present for Halloween. Mads was very brave and touched a very big snake and a snail! The party at my friends house was great fun, and we all bought some goodies with us- Mads looked pretty damn cute as 'The Baby Witch.' Now she is napping upstairs and I am relaxing on the sofa- we have both had far too much sugar this morning!

They all looked very cute in their little costumes, and we got a very sweet photo of them all sitting on the sofa together as well.
Doesn't my little witch look scary?!

Anyway, Mads makes a very cute witch and she is very brave to touch a snake! I am not sure at my age if I could do such a thing! X
