'I Am Thankful For...'
Hello to my last post of 2012! I hope that everyone had a great Christmas and New Year, and I am sure that I will be recapping over what we got up too and showing off some photos soon.
But first for a little New Year Project of mine.
I am thankful for a lot of things in my life. I write about how lucky I am on my blog a lot, and how I feel blessed to have my little family around me every single day.
Life can change in an instant, not always for the better, and since becoming a Mummy, I really do value the little things we take for granted more. When you are raising a child, you become caught up in seeing life through their eyes- in some ways I wish I could be more like my daughter- I love how she sees the magic and the excitement in everything. Life isn't about expensive clothes, or material objects, or trips away- of course those are nice, but in the grand scheme of things they aren't important.
Sometimes I let life's stresses get in the way, and I find myself getting too worked up about our finances, or the fact that the house isn't tidy, or I can't treat myself or Mads to something I would like to. This past year I have tried to stop myself getting like it, but of course sometimes you can't help but be in a bad mood- that is life.
However for 2013 I have decided to do a litle project on my instagram feed. Last year I attempted to do the 366 project where you take a photo a day, and I managed it until May. I take many photos a day but it was just the fact that I got fed up of uploading them onto the computer and blog every evening- sometimes you just don't want your head in a laptop.
Therefore this year I still want to take a photo every day, but I wanted to have a theme so I don't get bored. I have therefore decided in 2013 to take a photo every day of things I am thankful for. It could be something meaningful, poignant, or downright superficial but I am going to take a photo every day on instagram and use the hashtag #iamthankfulfor...
Rather than upload them on here each night, at the end of every month I will add that months photos on to my blog so I can keep track of what I am thankful for.
I am hoping that by doing this mini project it will inspire me to remember the important things in life and to be more positive even when you have a day thats not so good. I am a firm believer that you should remember the little things in life. Lets just hope 2013 is as good as 2012 was.
I hope everyone has a lovely New Years Eve. This is the third one in a row we will be staying in, and the second one out of three I won't be able to have a glass of bubbly to celebrate. However the chocolate will be on force, and right now I wouldn't have it any other way.
