My Week That Was #6
Can you believe that 'My Week That Was' has been running for six weeks now? I love writing and remembering all the little things that happen in my week- after all surely that is exactly what our blogs are for?
This week has been unbelievably hectic for me and now to top it all off I have come down with a bug- I may be being rather dramatic when I say this but I haven't felt this poorly in ages. As such I have been neglecting my blog this week and haven't got round to reading friends blogs as well, but hopefully I will be feeling better soon and will be back to my normal self. Anyway...

My Week That Was...
Monday was spent at work and then we went over to my Mums for dinner which was lovely. Mads was sick after I had left for work and apparently wasn't well most of the day. In the evening she fell asleep while sitting upright cuddling her Daddy on the kitchen table so we knew she was coming down with something.
Tuesday morning I set off to go to work as normal but then Mr E rang me and said Mads wasn't too well and that he didn't think she should be out in the snow and cold when she was obviously poorly so I turned around and came home. She was very cuddly all day, and my sister came over and we all snuggled on the sofa together which was a nice day considering the circumstances.
I went to work on Wednesday morning and then in the evening we had a little bit of a disaster. We were all upstairs getting Mads ready for bed and Mads was doing her usual trick of standing up at the stairgate- all of a sudden we heard a massive crash and the stair gate had given way and she had gone tumbling down the stairs. I was terrified and Mr E ran to get her and she was absolutely sobbing her little heart out- I think it was shock more than anything. About five minutes afterwards I was cuddling her and she projectile vomited all over me. We took her to A and E just to be on the safe side but within a few minutes of her being there she was fine and the doctor gave her the all clear. Here she is cruising along the hospital chairs!

Thursday was an exciting day for me. I got up bright and early and went into London for the start of a two day training for my new job with Little Dish. (A separate post on my new fabulous job coming soon!) There are six of us in total doing the job, four new starters and two existing ones. We met the team, including Hillary and John the founders who were both very nice and the day was spent learning all about the company and what our roles were going to include. I am very excited to be part of such a forward thinking and growing company. Thursday night we went out for a meal in Notting Hill to a lovely pizza restaurant where they had a unique way of serving. Below is a photo to show exactly what I mean.

During the day on Friday I was in London still having another induction day at Little Dish. We finished about 2ish and I headed back home. In the evening Mads and I went over to my friends for a sleepover with her little boy. It was our first sleepover but unfortunately Mads was still under the weather and I was starting to come down with something so that put a bit of a dampner on the evening. Still they had a romantic dinner for two and also had their first bath together. Talk about starting young!

I woke up on Saturday morning feeling dreadful which is never good when you are in someone else's house. We were going to give Mr E a well deserved lie in but I just wanted to go home and so we braved the cold to get back. It was -13 when we got in the car- in all my years on the planet I have never ever seen it that cold- it was just horrible and definitely not what I needed when I was feeling poorly. Saturday was spent lying in bed and sleeping on and off. I am so lucky to have such a caring husband who spent all day looking after Mads and bringing me paracetamol and hot water bottles. I haven't felt that ill in a long time.

Which brings us today- Sunday. I have woken up feeling slightly better but not much really and to top it all off Mads has developed a cold and Mr E seems to have caught my bug as well so we are a sad and sorry state of affairs. Currently I am lying in bed catching up on some well needed blog writing, Mr E is snoozing next to me and Mads is in bed.
All in all, a rather hectic, exciting yet stressful week.
And that was my week that was.
If you would like to join up and tell us about your week the linky is open and will remain open until next Sunday so feel free to join up at any time- doesn't just have to be on a Sunday. You can grab the badge too. Have a good week.
