'Things Go Unnoticed Until We Slow Down Enough To See Them.'

on Monday, 07 January 2013.

This little lady at just turned two has lots of lovely toys but her absolute favourite has to be her play kitchen.  We got it from Ikea probably around six months ago, and she has always shown an interest in it but as she has got older and more aware it has definitely taken centre stage.

With that in mind we bought her some more play food for it for her Christmas and birthday, and it is now one of her favourite things to do.

I love playing with it with her, she really gets into it, and flips the food in the frying pan, makes me sandwiches (albeit with egg, kiwi fruit, banana and sausage) and gets me endless cups of tea.

It is lovely to see her beginning to get immersed into a world of make believe and role playing.

For Christmas Great Grandma got her this little apron and she always puts it on when she is 'cooking.'

Flipping the egg.  It's how all the top chefs do it don't you know?

She never ceases to amaze me every day about how grown up she is now and I love watching her grow and learn.

That little apron is gorgeous! My little ones got a play kitchen for Christmas and they absolutely love it. I'm always getting fed cake and sandwiches with questionable fillings! ;-) xx

It is so cute isn't it, the service isn't great at our restaurant, it takes about half an hour to get a sandwich and then normally it is chucked at you without a plate. ;) x

I don't like to state the obvious Katie, but shouldn't the apron say 'Dad's little helper'?? ;-)
she looks like she's really enjoying the kitchen...you'd best get Mr E to train her up on the real one soon too! x

Allegra has that very same kitchen and we bought it about 6 months ago and for ages it sat untouched but now she's increasingly showing interest in it and I can see she's going to play with it more and more as she gets a little bit older. The pics of Mads are so cute and LOVE the apron! x

Leo's favourite toy is his kitchen too! He only got it on New Years Eve and he plays with it daily. I actually have a post all about role play and imagination in my drafts, amazing how young they start playing like this! xx

GOrgeous photos!!! There's so much focus in her face (and joy with the egg flipping!!) - its amazing how they learn so much even when we think they're not paying attention. I love how her little apron just opens up a new world for her and she's suddenly a chef! :)
