You are One and A Half!
My Gorgeous Lady,
Wow you are one and a half. Eighteen months old. You have been here for twice as long as you were in my tummy. I can't imagine what life was like without you now, yet at the same time I cannot believe my baby is eighteen months old. I remember seeing 18-24 month clothes in the shops when I was pregnant with you, and I remember thinking that they looked HUGE. I never imagined a time when you would fit in them.
Although you are not in them just yet, in fact to go on holiday we had to buy some 9-12 month clothes as all the others were too big for you. You are quite tall but very slight, people often comment on how petite you are- Daddy and I call you our 'little dink'.
You will always be my 'little dink' even when you are all grown up.
This month we have had so much fun. Mummy has had lots of time off work and we have been on our first holiday to Spain as a little family of three. You were in your element- we have never seen your face such a joy or a delight. I was permanently proud of you the whole time for being such a good girl, you never fail to make us smile.
Your personality has got even cheekier if that is possible. Your smile lights up the whole room and your giggle gives me shivers- I don't think there is a sound in the world that I love more. I asked Daddy the other day if he thought you were happy and he asked me how on earth I could ask that question- he said that you were the happiest little girl alive. As long as we make you happy that is all that counts. We love watching your personality develop.
Your tantrums have got a little worse this month- you don't do them often but when you do they are a little bit dramatic- maybe we will have an actress on our hands. You have started doing a really high pitched scream which is very strange- normally we can distract you and they stop soon after!
You are saying so many more words- loads more than any of your friends, this obviously makes me a very proud mama. When we were on holiday Daddy was downstairs and he said 'Mads you are gorgeous,' and you repeated back to him 'gorgeous' as clear as day. We thought this was very clever! You also are interacting a lot more. You can say lots of animal sounds, my favourite is when you say 'Quack Quack' as it sounds so funny and you also mime 'I love you,' back to me. You can point out all your own facial features, and when you say nose you grab mine and pretend to blow it- it is very cute! The other day I asked you what you were doing as you went over to the corner of the room and you said 'A poo'. Even this made me proud- being a Mummy is a funny old thing!
I hope when you are old enough to read these letters you will be happy to hear what you were up to each month- I would have loved something like this from when I was growing up. I can't wait for us to read them together, so you know what joy you brought into our lives.
Happy 18 months my beautiful lady.
Mummy loves you more than anything in the world. But as always you already knew that.
Mummy
xx
