I have a confession to make. I missed last weeks 'My Week That Was.' I was all set to write it in the week, just like I normally do when I occasionally miss writing it on a Sunday, but I just had a busy week and I didn't get round to it. I feel like I have cheated on my year of documenting my week, the only other time I missed it was when I was on holiday in June. Oh well. I shall never be able to remember what happened that week! However I am back on track for this week- without further ado here is My Week That Was.
Monday was a work day but luckily it went rather quickly as I was very busy. In the evening we went over to my Mum's for dinner- we had homemade Shepherds Pie which always reminds me of being little. My sister and her boyfriend were there too.
Tuesday was another work day, again it went quite quickly as I had a fair bit to do. Much better than the days dragging.
Wednesday I had the morning off. Mads and I went to a little halloween party at our friends house. All the little ones had a great time, and were full of sugar by the end of it. It was nice to catch up with my friends and I saw my friends newborn- the next one of us to have a baby will be me! In the afternoon Mads had a long nap and I relaxed on the sofa. Mr E and I treated ourselves to Dominoes for dinner so we didn't have to contend with cooking with all the trick or treaters. Turned out we only had two door knocks but I don't really agree with it unless you have a pumpkin outside so we ignored them. I am a Halloween scrooge I know.
Thursday I had some work to do in the morning and then in the afternoon I caught up on some blogging and freelance work as Paula who normally has Mads on a Wednesday had her today instead. It was nice to chill out and catch up on some things that I needed to do. Then in the afternoon I went over to my Mum's beauty salon to have my nails and waxing done. All in all it was a nice chilled out day.
Friday we were supposed to be seeing my friend for coffee but she was having a nightmare child day that we all get once in a while, so in the end Mads and I had a PJ day at home. She was as good as gold all day and we had a nice day together, sometimes if we stay in she gets a bit bored and grumpy but today was very lovely indeed. She had a long nap and I caught up on some more blogging. I chilled out on Friday evening and watched a film with my lovely husband.
Saturday we got up bright and early and headed over to Milton Keynes to check out two cars we were interested in buying. They turned out to not be what we were looking for so we went into the city centre. We had a nice start to our shopping trip as we had a hot chocolate and croissant at John Lewis, before buying a few bits and pieces. I bought a jumper, and some new leggings as I am wearing mine to death at the moment, and we bought Baby No 2 her first babygrows. We had lunch at Pizza Hut as Mads insisted that we should have pizza for lunch. We then drove an hour in the opposite direction to see another car- which we ended up loving so put down a deposit on it then and there. We pick it up next week and I am excited to have a shiny new 'family' car. In the evening we relaxed on the sofa and Mr E cooked risotto.
Sunday we got up and went to Tescos and then to Dunelm to buy some storage boxes. I then started to sort out Mads clothes, half in preparation of baby number two and half because most of them were shoved in Bin Bags in the loft. It was lovely to look through it all again, and I found the vest that Mads was wearing the day that I started this blog, and indeed the vest that inspired my blog name. Mads literally has so many clothes, but although we can use some for Baby 2, I want to get her new stuff as well. I haven't washed it all and sorted it yet as we haven't done her nursery yet, but at least now they are not in bin bags! We then had lunch and now Mads is napping while Mr E and I are relaxing- all in all a nice lazy Sunday.
And that was My Week That Was.
