My Week That Was #45

on Sunday, 11 November 2012.

We are having one of those perfect lazy Sundays that you just need every once in a while.  I went to visit a friend in the morning for a coffee and so Mads and her little friend could play, and Mr E did the garden.  Now Mads is napping, Mr E is napping (hungover) and I am sitting on the sofa catching up on some blogging.

Without further ado here is My Week That Was.

Monday I was at work which went quite quickly as it was the only day I was there this week due to various reasons.  The day went nice and quick as I was a busy bee.  We normally go to my Mums for dinner but we didn't this week as I was tired and wanted a night in with my little family.  We did however go for an impromptu drive in our pj's to find fireworks- Mads loved them and I haven't seen her so excited before- in the end we ended up pulling over on a grass verge and watching a whole display!

Tuesday I normally work but this week I was off.  Unfortunately I had to spend a couple of hours at the hospital as I had a urine infection, and was made to wait for ages.  It wasn't anything to worry about, it was just that they were all very busy.  In the afternoon I treated myself to a Mcdonalds as I was starving- nice and healthy!

Wednesday I was still feeling a bit bleugh so I just relaxed at home, at lunch time to get out of the house I took Mads to a baby singing class and then out to lunch to Frankie and Bennys with two friends.  I then came home and napped while she had a nap as well.

Thursday I went shopping with my Mum in the morning to get some of Mads Christmas and Birthday presents.  We had a 25% off voucher for ELC so we took full advantage of that and bought a fair bit of Happyland stuff for her, as well as some other bits and pieces.  I think that the shop assistant thought she was the most spoilt child ever, until I pointed out that her birthday was Christmas Eve so this was for both.  I am not going mad this year for her, she doesn't understand and we don't have the money or inclination to spend lots on plastic tat.  As her birthday present we are getting her new room done for her, and Christmas I want to get her some thoughtful stocking fillers as well as a few bits to open.  We had a nice coffee and lunch and then we came home and Mads had a nap and I caught up on some blogging.  In the evening we went over to my Grandparents for dinner- I adore them!  I also got the most exciting package in the post that I nearly let out a little shout about- it is an amazing Sugarjack bag for when the new baby arrives- but more about that later!

Friday we went to a local baby group in the morning and then went to a friends for a coffee afterwards so Mads and her daughter got to play for ages.  We then came home and I decided to have a nap, but just as I was falling asleep the postman knocked on the door- it is always the way!  In the evening Mr E cooked us a lovely risotto and we sat down ready to watch a film- but by 8.30pm I was so tired I went to bed.  Crazy times all round.

Saturday we got up early and went to have some photos taken with a local photographer.  Mads is probably at the worst age to be told to sit on a backdrop but hopefully we got some ok ones.  We then drove to Lincolnshire to pick up our new wheels- I love my new car and I told Mr E that I feel like I am a proper Mummy now I have a big car!  In the evening I went out to my favourite gastro pub for a meal with my lovely friend Jo- it was nice to have a girls night and I didn't feel bad I wasn't drinking as she is pregnant too!

Sunday has been a lazy day.  I went for a coffee and catch up with my friend while Mr E slept off his hangover and mowed the lawns, and then after a quick trip to Tesco we have been relaxing indoors- now Mr E and Mads are both napping and I am relaxing on the sofa.  Home made pizzas for dinner so I best start making the dough!

My Week That Was #44

on Sunday, 04 November 2012.

I have a confession to make.  I missed last weeks 'My Week That Was.'  I was all set to write it in the week, just like I normally do when I occasionally miss writing it on a Sunday, but I just had a busy week and I didn't get round to it.  I feel like I have cheated on my year of documenting my week, the only other time I missed it was when I was on holiday in June.  Oh well.  I shall never be able to remember what happened that week!  However I am back on track for this week- without further ado here is My Week That Was.

Monday was a work day but luckily it went rather quickly as I was very busy.  In the evening we went over to my Mum's for dinner- we had homemade Shepherds Pie which always reminds me of being little.  My sister and her boyfriend were there too.

Tuesday was another work day, again it went quite quickly as I had a fair bit to do.  Much better than the days dragging.

Wednesday I had the morning off.  Mads and I went to a little halloween party at our friends house.  All the little ones had a great time, and were full of sugar by the end of it.  It was nice to catch up with my friends and I saw my friends newborn- the next one of us to have a baby will be me!  In the afternoon Mads had a long nap and I relaxed on the sofa.  Mr E and I treated ourselves to Dominoes for dinner so we didn't have to contend with cooking with all the trick or treaters.  Turned out we only had two door knocks but I don't really agree with it unless you have a pumpkin outside so we ignored them.  I am a Halloween scrooge I know.

Thursday I had some work to do in the morning and then in the afternoon I caught up on some blogging and freelance work as Paula who normally has Mads on a Wednesday had her today instead.  It was nice to chill out and catch up on some things that I needed to do.  Then in the afternoon I went over to my Mum's beauty salon to have my nails and waxing done.  All in all it was a nice chilled out day.

Friday we were supposed to be seeing my friend for coffee but she was having a nightmare child day that we all get once in a while, so in the end Mads and I had a PJ day at home.  She was as good as gold all day and we had a nice day together, sometimes if we stay in she gets a bit bored and grumpy but today was very lovely indeed.  She had a long nap and I caught up on some more blogging.  I chilled out on Friday evening and watched a film with my lovely husband.

Saturday we got up bright and early and headed over to Milton Keynes to check out two cars we were interested in buying.  They turned out to not be what we were looking for so we went into the city centre.  We had a nice start to our shopping trip as we had a hot chocolate and croissant at John Lewis, before buying a few bits and pieces.  I bought a jumper, and some new leggings as I am wearing mine to death at the moment, and we bought Baby No 2 her first babygrows.  We had lunch at Pizza Hut as Mads insisted that we should have pizza for lunch.  We then drove an hour in the opposite direction to see another car- which we ended up loving so put down a deposit on it then and there.  We pick it up next week and I am excited to have a shiny new 'family' car.  In the evening we relaxed on the sofa and Mr E cooked risotto.

Sunday we got up and went to Tescos and then to Dunelm to buy some storage boxes.  I then started to sort out Mads clothes, half in preparation of baby number two and half because most of them were shoved in Bin Bags in the loft.  It was lovely to look through it all again, and I found the vest that Mads was wearing the day that I started this blog, and indeed the vest that inspired my blog name.  Mads literally has so many clothes, but although we can use some for Baby 2, I want to get her new stuff as well.  I haven't washed it all and sorted it yet as we haven't done her nursery yet, but at least now they are not in bin bags!  We then had lunch and now Mads is napping while Mr E and I are relaxing- all in all a nice lazy Sunday.

My Week That Was #42

on Sunday, 21 October 2012.

I am full and tired after a day at a family celebration, so without further ado here is My Week That Was.

Monday was a work day but it went nice and quick as I was very busy.  In the evening we went over to my Mum's for dinner and had a roast which was very yummy indeed.

Tuesday was another work day, it didn't go quite as quick but was still pretty busy- being busy definitely makes the days go quick.

Wednesday was another work day in the morning, Wednesdays always go quite quick as we have a team meeting every week so by the time I have sat down at my desk it is time to go home.  In the afternoon I did quite a lot of freelance work so I was pleased I had a productive day.

Thursday was my day off and Mads and I went to our local garden centre to meet three friends and their children.  They do the yummiest cakes there and there are animals and a playground so it is a lovely place to go with Mads. We then came home, had tried to cook Mr E a malteaser cake which was as bit of a disaster first time round, however the second attempt was very yummy.  Mads had a lovely long sleep and I got some blogging done.  I didn't have a great day as I was very emotional and hormonal, you know one of those days where you get teary at everything!

Friday morning we got up and went to soft play with two of my friends.  All three of us are pregnant, in fact one of my friends told me that morning that she was 11 weeks, so it is nice as there will be a few of us on maternity leave at the same time.  It was Mads little boyfriend's second birthday- I can't believe they are starting to turn two- my girly will be two in December and that is a scary thought.  In the afternoon Mads had another nice long sleep which I really need at the moment.

Saturday we got up and went over to my Mum's so I could have my waxing and nails done- it is really lovely having a Mum who owns a beauty salon, I am very lucky that I get to get pampered whenever I want.  We then went car shopping as we are looking to upgrade our car.  We have a new VW Polo at the moment but is too small really as we go away at the weekends quite a lot.  We aren't sure but are thinking of getting a Nissan Qashqui.  We then came home and Mr E cooked a yummy risotto and we snuggled on the sofa watching Saturday night TV.

Sunday we got up and tidied the house before going to my Grandfathers second 80th birthday party.  This was a lovely do, set in a lovely old barn belonging to one of his friends.  There were 80 of his friends and family there and we all had a great time.  Mads was as good as gold, and Mr E and the rest of my family got tipsy while I stuck to the orange juice.  We came home about 5pm and relaxed on the sofa.

My Week That Was #41

on Sunday, 14 October 2012.

We have been in Cheshire this weekend seeing Mr E's side of the family- it is a three hour drive from us, and therefore both Mr E and I are quite tired and looking forward to an early night.

Without further ado this is My Week That Was.

Monday was a work day.  Enough said.  In the evening we went over to my Mum's for dinner and had a roast which was lovely, I love living a couple of miles away from her.

Tuesday was another work day.  Enough said!

Wednesday I had a holiday day and my Mum, sister and I went for a very relaxing spa day at Ragdale Hall.  It was wonderful, and I really enjoyed spending quality time with them both, and of course being pampered.  I had a wonderful massage but I have a post to come all about it!  In the evening we got home quite late so Mr E and I treated ourselves to Dominoes as a naughty midweek treat.

Thursday was my day off and we went to soft play in the morning to meet our friends, Mads has such fun climbing around and playing in the 'balls'.  We had lunch there, and in the afternoon Mads and I came home as we had a man round deep cleaning our carpets.  They look like new now!  She then had a long nap which was nice for me!

Friday I woke to find my cold had got worse and I didn't feel like doing much, so Mads and I went to the midwife first thing and then came back and got into our PJ's.  My sister came over as she was also feeling a bit under the weather so we all snuggled on the sofa together.  Mads had a three hour nap again so I relaxed and caught up on some blogs.  In the evening we went over to my Grandmas for dinner which was lovely as always.

Saturday we got up early and went to Cheshire to see Mr E's family.  We got there just before lunch and had a quick play with some new toys that Grandma had bought Mads, before going out to Pizza Express for lunch.  Three courses later and we were all very full so we went for a walk in a local country park and had a hot chocolate in the tea rooms.  Then in the evening Mr E, his Mum, her husband and brother got very merry on wine while I sat there drinking Sprite!

Sunday we got up at 7am which slightly earlier than normal for us because Mads was in the room with us, we all got ready and then went to another local park to feed the ducks and have a go on the swings.  We then went to a little bistro for some brunch, I had a massive all day breakfast which went down a treat.  We then set off on our journey home and three hours later arrived back at our little house.  We relaxed for the rest of the afternoon and I did some tidying.
