Me and Mine: A Family Portrait Project- May.
This month has been a busy one for us.
We have been busy most weekends and last week went on our first holiday as a family of four.
Therefore it was only right that our May family portrait is of our trip away.
This photo was taken on the promenade in Scarborough.
The weather wasn't great while we were away, as you can see by the grey, lifeless sky.
As usual LL isn't looking at the camera, (it's impossible to get a baby to look in the same direction as the rest of you!) but whenever I look at it I get happy memories. We had to get someone else to take the photo for us, as although I took the tripod along, we may have got some strange looks posing with a remote on a busy walkway! However I couldn't resist a shot by the seaside.
We had a lovely trip away, spending the week relaxing, enjoying each other's company and having fun with our girls. It was lovely just being together without having to worry about housework, or checking emails or doing work. Plus Mr E and I enjoyed quality time together without fiddling on our phones or computers as there was no signal in our holiday home.
We also got this photo taken this month of the four of us so I couldn't not include it in my Me and Mine portrait as it is a special one. This is the four of us outside the place I first met my husband.
Almost nine years ago now I walked through those swinging doors in my third year of university, and applied for a part time job in this trendy bar. The manager handed me an application form and that was it.
That manager was my wonderful Mr E. It's been a whirlwind- living in Leeds, London and Cambridgeshire, going on exotic holidays, getting engaged, getting married, and having two beautiful children.
When we went on our holiday this month we visited Leeds, my favourite city in the world, and couldn't help but post for a photo outside the bar.
After all, if I hadn't of walked through those doors on that random Tuesday afternoon, then I wouldn't have my family.
I am very thankful.
I find it crazy to look at these photos every month and see how quickly my girls are changing and growing up- just three months ago when we took our February shot LL was a tiny newborn, less than two weeks old- now she is a smiling, happy, interactive baby.
It's kind of bittersweet, but wonderful to record these memories each month.
Goodbye May, we had lots of fun.
This month I am encouraging you all to go and check out Lauren's blog. Lauren is one of my absolutel favourite bloggers, and she is such a nice, kind, supportive blogging friend too so you should definitely go and check out her blog- her family are gorgeous.
