My Sisters in January.

on Friday, 10 January 2014.

One of the best things about being a Mummy to two by far is watching the bond develop between my two little ladies.  From the second that Mads met her little sister in the hospital, I have been overwhelmed, and utterly transfixed with the love between the two of them.  My biggest girl has amazed me with how kind, caring and affectionate she has been with her little sister, and I have never once seen her show even one ounce of jealousy towards her.  She has completely accepted her into our family.

When LL was tiny I took a LOT of photos of the two of them together.  It was easy as LL would just lie there and Mads would hold her.  Their first few months together were full of DSLR photos of the two of them...

And iPhone photos too...

All was going well.  Until Mads realised that Mummy taking photos was totally not fun and LL learn to move.  Quickly.  Alas it is now near on impossible to get photos of the two of them together as they are both constantly on the go, usually in opposite directions.  I do still take them, but they certainly are not as easy as they used to be.

Therefore when I was invited by Lucy to be in a project 'Siblings'  where we share a photo of our girls a month, I wondered what I was letting myself in for.  But I like a challenge and so therefore will try and capture at least one good one a month.  Without further ado here is the first month...

siblingsjanuary1

My big girl loves to play with ears.  Daddy's are best but she loves to play with her little sisters too.  The only problem is LL wants to be on the move constantly so she has to have a little play when she is otherwise distracted.

I can't wait to see what this year will bring for my two little girls who are on the cusp of a very beautiful friendship.

*****

This month I am sending you to have a look at the beautiful Kelle at Maggie Stone Vintage.  Kelle is one of my favourite bloggers and she is just as lovely in 'real life'.  Her two little people are possibly always the coolest dressed kids I know.  Enjoy!

I was EXACTLY the same, took lots of lovely photos of them together before the little miss started moving, and then I basically stopped taking them because it was so hard. It's certainly going to be a challenge, but I like one of those!
Love your photo, Mads looks like such a protective big sister in it, and it really records their size difference, which will really shrink this year I reckon, as LL plays catch up on the growing. x

Oh that sounds so familiar - my Elma is forever disappearing out of shot - she just can't sit still anymore! It's a lovely photo, so very natural and just shows their togetherness perfectly.

Ahaha, I've got a great visual of Mads running around after LL trying to play with her ears. I used to do the exact same thing when I was little - my favourite ears to play with were my neighbour's - he was about 10 years old and used to be very patient with this little toddler who always wanted to grab his ears... poor boy!

I love your photographs- the one at the bottom of macs discreetly playing with her sisters ears is so cute - I love her stance, as if she is pretending not to do what she is doing. I love this Linky too, just posted to it - I will have to try to get pictures of my girls together a bit more when I can! Xxx

I love how Mads has her fingers in her mouth in a lot of photos - guessing it's a comfort thing? So cute! Fingers in her mouth and other hand touching ears! She's adorable!
I never had a Sister and I think growing up with a Sister would be an amazing thing, especially when they're close in age. Looking forward to seeing your Daughters' friendship develop too x

I love this photo. It feels very cool and a little moody like it's from some stylish, French kids' magazine. It's so hard to photograph the children together now that little ones are on the move isn't it? I get lots of shots of BB'd bottom as he's quickly crawling away from the camera.
