A Visit to the George at Asda Home- #GeorgeHome

A couple of weeks ago, on LL’s birthday to be precise, we were invited along to a gorgeous house in North London for the afternoon. This wasn’t just any old home however, it was a rather special one. As the three of us (Mr E took the day off as it was LL’s birthday) wandered down the street we noticed the sign up in the front garden reinforcing what was to come- ‘George Home’. We were there to spend the afternoon at the George at Asda Home with some of my other favourite bloggers.

The reason why we were there was to be one of the first people to get a sneak peek of the new George Home SS16 collection, which in itself was a great honour. We walked in and were greeted by the lovely team and the other bloggers that were there – Fritha, Laura, Caro and Jess and all their partners and children, so we knew we were in for a great day. The first thing that the George team explained was that every single thing in the house was from George- everywhere we looked was part of the new range, down to the paint on the walls, the furniture, the toys and the accessories. Even things like the beds and the sofas- I didn’t even realise that George did sofas but the two grey Valerie sofas were stunning and such good value.

We were then left to our own devices and to wander around and explore the beautiful home. The fab George team had organised activities to keep the little ones entertained- including decorating gingerbread men, (LL may have decorated and eaten about 10!) crafts and hooking a rubber duck in the bathroom. Plus they laid on a delicious lunch for us all. All the children had a lovely time playing in the different rooms of the house and we loved having a look around at the gorgeous pieces. I actually own a few bits of George decor but I was so impressed by the style of some of their new season products.

Here is our day in photos and a sneak peek of some of the range too….

My favourite room in the house was the master bedroom. I loved the calming natural tones and they weren’t colours I thought I would like but I really did. George has so many lovely accessories and their bedding is such good value- the duvet was just £12!

These flowers were fake and looked amazing and I loved the scale vase paired with the bronze lamp.

There were two children’s rooms in the house but my brightly coloured monster loving little girl loved the monster themed bedroom the most. While the girls bedroom probably would appeal to many little girls it was a bit too pink for us, but the primary coloured bright and happy bedroom with all it’s colourful accessories was just gorgeous. I love the little star light below.

So bright and fun.

She loved playing with all the toys and was in her element!

The living/dining room area was styled so beautifully and I loved the calming effect it gave. I had major sofa envy as well.

How lovely are these little trinkets? I adore the bronze pineapple and of course being a succulent fan I love the little trio of succulents too.

Obviously in a few months we are going to be decorating a nursery and we loved the nursery in the George Home.

I loved the cot which turns into a bed eventually, especially the storage underneath- that would definitely come in handy for us as our little boy is going to be in the smallest room in our house where storage is tight. I also really liked the grey storage boxes as well.

Finally after spending the afternoon having lots of fun, George organised a really special treat for LL as it was her birthday- they got her a cake and a big cuddly giraffe as a present, which was so thoughtful of them.

It was a great day and we all had so much fun. I really enjoyed taking a sneak peek at the new range as I am a huge interiors fan. There are some beautiful pieces and I really think that George have upped their game this season- the range really is stylish, trendy and above all the great value that you would expect from Asda. Thanks so much to George for inviting us along, it was so lovely to catch up with some of our favourite bloggers in such a relaxed setting and of course getting to swoon over their new collection.

NB: Thanks to George for inviting us along and treating us to a great day- all words and opinions are my own.
