A Little Project with #DubaiTomorrow- Plus Win a £250 High St Voucher too!

I first visited Dubai a couple of months before I started going out with Jon. I must have been about twenty one and I went with my mum, sister and her then boyfriend. From the second we arrived, I couldn’t help but be a little mesmerised by the Emirate. From the opulent Dubai airport, which is like no other airport I have been, to the amazing luxury hotels, it really was quite a surreal but incredible place. This was over ten years ago now and when I stayed they were just building The Palm- I can’t imagine what it must be like to visit now and how much it has changed.

We had an amazing stay over Christmas, staying at the gorgeous One and Only Royal Mirage which at the time was probably the most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed in, having afternoon tea at the iconic Burj al Arab, and visiting the waterparks. It was my first experience of having Christmas in a hot country and although it felt strange being on the beach on Christmas Day, we loved every minute of it. Sadly I no longer have any photos after a hard drive malfunction a few years ago, but I would love to go back and see the Emirate again one day and take my family, as I have had friends who have visited recently who have said there is so much more to do for families in this present day.

A couple of months ago, I took part in hosting a twitter party with Tots100 and Visit Dubai. It was great fun and a real success, so I was delighted that Dubai Tourism have invited me back to take part in a little project. On the 4th to the 11th September Dubai Tourism is taking over Waterloo Station in Central London and it’s set to be a really fun event. You can see my face over on the Dubai Tomorrow website, alongside the other campaign ambassadors! 🙂

The Waterloo event invites the public to be here today #DubaiTomorrow, with the help of cutting-edge virtual reality experiences and interactive games. There’s loads of great stuff planned and visitors to the event will have the chance to win on-the-spot prizes, and have a chance to win a holiday to Dubai daily which is rather exciting indeed. The 4th September sees a ‘family fun’ day on the last day of the summer holidays for most, and there’s loads of fun things planned for all the family.

Whats more, on the 6th September I am going to be travelling to Waterloo to take part in another twitter party, but this time at the Dubai event itself. I am really looking forward to going there to learn more about the Emirate and share it with all my twitter followers. It should be really good fun and there will be some prizes to win there too. If you are free and can get to Waterloo between the 4th and the 11th September, then there will be lots of things going on, and officials from Dubai Tourism will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the country.

However if you can’t get down to Waterloo there is still lots of ways you can get involved. If you head to the Dubai Tomorrow website you can see more of the city’s incredibly array of sights and also be in with a chance of winning an amazing holiday as well.

Dubai is a year round destination for both families and couples, with stunning beaches, world-class shopping, thrilling adventures and fascinating culture. When I went ten years ago there was still so much to do, so I can’t even begin to imagine what there is to do now. I loved visiting The Dubai Mall to get out of the heat a little, plus we went on a 4 by 4 jeep safari in the desert, before riding camels and eating a meal under the stars in the middle of a camp in the Arabian desert. If I was to go again with Jon and the children, there is so much I would want to do- including going to the crazy waterpark at Atlantis, heading to the gorgeous beaches, and also the new Legoland Dubai too. Plus I would love to try some of the amazing restaurants as well, as Dubai is fast becoming known as a culinary hub as well.

I’m really excited to be live tweeting from Waterloo on the 6th September, be sure to be around on twitter at 1pm to join in the twitter party and be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes. Be sure to make sure you are following me @mummydaddyme, @tots100 and @VisitDubai_UK.

Finally the lovely people at Visit Dubai have given me £250 worth of High St Vouchers to give away to one of my readers. All you need to do is have a quick look at the Dubai Tomorrow website and let me know below in the comments ‘What would be the one thing you would want to do if you visited Dubai?’

Good luck! 🙂
