Making Over My Makeup Bag with Boots Natural Collection

Back in November I worked with Boots Natural Collection on creating a day to evening makeup look. It was the first time I had really done any sort of beauty posts on my blog and I must admit I really enjoyed it. I loved doing something a little out of my comfort zone and best of all I was so pleasantly surprised by the make up I was given- I can honestly say that I have used my Natural Collection make up every single day since I was sent it.

With every product in the Natural Collection range costing just £1.99, at first I was a little skeptical. Would the tinted moisturiser give my tired face enough coverage? Would the lip colour come off straight away? And I was so surprised with just how great they were. I have used the mascara and brow kit every day, and the lipstick often too, with me finding a new pink colour (Raspberry) I love as a result.  Even though they are ridiculously good value for money, the make up really lasts, especially the lipstick, in fact I often have to scrub it off at the end of the day and it lasts way longer than some of the more expensive brands I have.

So when Boots challenged me to make over my make up bag for just £10 for the New Year I was really excited to give it a try and to try out some more of the Natural Collection products. I chose…

  • Colour Foundation (I wanted something that had more coverage now my tan has faded from our Orlando holiday)
  • Golden Sand Eyeshadow (I only ever wear gold eyeshadow so thought I would give this one a try)
  • Black Liquid Eyeliner (I can’t find the link online for this, but my old one from another brand had just run out so this was perfect timing)
  • Cherry Red Lipstick (I LOVE red lipstick and wear it a lot but I normally wear a brighter, slightly orangey shade)
  • Cranberry Kiss Lipgloss (as I love to have a bit of lipgloss on occasionally)

natural_collection_2017_inatural_collection_2017_oThe eyeliner is fantastic, I need to get used to using the brush as it is a lot finer than the one I am used to, but it stays on all day which is great.

natural_collection_2017_jI absolutely loved the eyeshadow. As I mentioned above, I normally wear a gold eyeshadow and have been using it for years, but the Natural Collection one had a lovely even coverage and was a lot more subtle than the one I normally wear- meaning it is perfect for day time use.

natural_collection_2017_nnatural_collection_2017_mI originally bought the lipgloss to go over the lipstick but I didn’t like the effect it gave. I love the shade though and would be more likely to wear it on its own for a more subtle look.

natural_collection_2017_lI absolutely love the lip colour. Testing out the Natural Collection colours has really made me come out of my comfort zone when it comes to lip shades. As a result I have two new shades that I probably wouldn’t have tried otherwise. I honestly am so impressed with the lipsticks, the coverage is fantastic and I truly can’t believe they are only £1.99.

natural_collection_2017_knatural_collection_2017_pI am so pleased with my little make up bag makeover. The foundation gives a really nice even coverage (I know I keep saying it,but £1.99- WHAT!?!) and I finished off my look with my previous Natural Collection products, including the blusher, mascara and brow kit. I think the beauty of Natural Collection is that it really can appeal to any budget- (there is nothing on my face but their products and it all came to just £16.00) which is great considering this time of year is a time when we all are trying to budget a little more after the madness of christmas.

I decided to have another little photoshoot with my boy to showcase my finished make up look, basically because I cannot pose on my own in the slightest, I couldn’t feel more awkward having my photo taken so I like to have a little person with me to stop me feeling like a complete wally. I absolutely love these photos of the pair of us, I’m so glad we took them…

And there you have it. My mini makeup bag revamp for New Year for just £10. I have really enjoyed working on this campaign and I am a huge Natural Collection convert now. If you haven’t tried it before, I definitely recommend it. I bet you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Katie you are stunning before makeup and with it. What a lovely favorite five here too. I wish I could pull red lipstick off but it’s so out of my comfort zone my is usually hot pink. The opposite spec but you look amazing and gorgeous mini photoshoot with little man here too. No one better to get pretty for than the baba and smile together. I am the same I find posing shots hard just me. Easier to use the kiddos as a barrier. The gold eyeshadow was my favorite too I normally wear it everyday but the liquid eyeliner might take me some getting used to I have wait too shaky hands. hahaha Lovely collection for the new year and your makeup revamp.

  • Lovely photos and the Natural Collection make-up is brilliant isn’t it? I’m a bit of a convert to the brow kit myself after my teenager gave me a lesson on how to use it! At this time of year when everyone is strapped for cash after Christmas, it’s good to have a way to freshen up your look on the cheap – especially as I know I need a January boost! Great ideas here.

  • You look really lovely katie and what a fab little make up collection update- I have only ever tried a couple of products but I’ll head to Boots to sample a few more. I do tend to use more drugstore makeup than high end as I think it can often be as good if not better. Lovely photos- idbe the same, I hate posing on my own 😉 x

  • To get all that for £10… Brilliant value! I don’t think I’ve tried this range yet but most Boots products are great quality, and this looks like it would be too. You look lovely in the pictures 🙂

Beautiful – You pull of red lippy so well 🙂 ! I have used their foundations in the past and found the coverage prettty nice. I also always forget to wear eye shadows, which is something I used to wear regularly…I think ill pop into town this weekend and treat myself to a couple to spruce my look this new year x

That’s such good value for money and the shades are so nice. I always buy exactly the same things and keep refilling them, I’m a bit too chicken to venture out a bit!
