LAPITA RESORT, DUBAI PARKS AND RESORTS

On our recent trip to Dubai as a family we experienced a little bit of everything and indeed that is the beauty of Dubai. First of all we stayed on The Palm at the lovely Anantara Resort, where we experienced the beach life, fun times at theAquadventure Water Park at Atlantis, a trip up the Burj Khalifa and a Sunset Desert Safari. Then it was time to head to a different part of Dubai for the final few days of our trip, where we were to experience a more thrill seeking part of our holiday- a few days at the newly opened Dubai Parks and Resorts area of the city.

I will talk more about Dubai Parks and Resorts in another post, but in a nutshell it is home to three world class theme parks (and plans to open a fourth soon) – LEGOLAND Dubai, LEGOLAND Water Park, Motiongate and Bollywood Parks. It is also home to Riverland, the gateway to the theme parks as well. We managed to visit both LEGOLAND Parks and Motiongate, and I will talk about them another time. Today I wanted to talk about the hotel which we stayed in while we were there- the Lapita Resort.

Lapita is a unique place to stay for endless fun at Dubai Parks and Resorts. All guests staying at Lapita Hotel & Resort can enjoy unlimited multi-park access for the duration of their stay, in addition to complimentary Q-fast to Motiongate and Bollywood. It’s a Polynesian themed resort and indeed it certainly felt cosy and soothing. We arrived in the blistering Dubai heat and got a golf buggy up to our room- to say we walked in and gasped was an understatement.

We were staying in an interconnecting Deluxe room and the room itself was absolutely beautiful. You could tell it was brand new, with the gorgeous Polynesian themed furnishings really standing out. I loved all the colours and textures in the room. The girls also loved that the maids had left towel creatures and a little note, as well as colouring books for them too.

And the best bit of our room? The view from our balcony, which overlooked Lapita’s gorgeous pool.

The beauty of Lapita is that you could stay in the hotel and use it as a typical holiday destination- i.e swim in the pool all day, enjoy the food (there is a fabulous pool bar which we ate in most days, plus there are four other restaurants too. You could easily do this, but the fact is you have Riverland and all it’s eateries, and then the three amazing theme parks right on your doorstep. We spent one day relaxing in Lapita and taking advantage of the pool, and the rest of the time having fun at the parks.

The pool is big with lots of sunbeds, and a lazy river with rings which we must have gone round about ten times. The pool water was lovely and refreshing compared to the nearly 40 degree heat outside. The only thing I would say was that the ground was literally roasting (which can’t be helped I guess) but you must make sure you pack pool socks or flip flops as you can’t step on it in the height of summer barefoot.

Lapita also has a fabulous kids club which is in a fantastic large air conditioned room, complete with so many toys and fun activities for children of all ages to enjoy. You could sign them in free of charge for a while, but we didn’t want to do this. However one night after dinner they let the girls come in and play as it was quiet so we just went in and sat there with them while they played with one of the staff. They had a great time playing table football and doing some drawing, and they didn’t want to leave.

One evening before heading out to dinner at Kalea, Lapita’s all day buffet restaurant, we had a little photo shoot. I absolutely love all these photos. As it was Ramadan while we were there the hotel laid on a special Iftar buffet and it was wonderful to see all the Muslim families there enjoying the international food on offer. The food was great, and the staff were fantastic.

We really enjoyed our time at Lapita Resort. The hotel is beautifully themed, the facilities amazing, and the rooms are finished to an amazing standard and are pristine. The hotel is still so new and it was incredibly quiet while we were there, both because it was new and because it was Ramadan, but I have a feeling that in a few months it is going to get so busy. The best bit of Lapita for us was its proximity to all the theme parks, you literally walked through an entrance to get straight to Riverland and all the park entrances. It was amazing to just nip across to the theme parks whenever we felt like it. I will talk more about the theme parks in another post, but we overall we really loved our time at Lapita.
